Happy
Things are far from perfect, but I can honestly say that I am happy.
One more week before I'm officially a 2nd year resident. Man, time flies.

Random Stuff/Updates
So it's been awhile.
Things are going great I suppose.
Currently in the call room. They're aren't any patients in the ER right now which means I get to lay down and try to sleep. I'm kind of ready to be done with residency. I mean things are going great. I'm just kind of ready to be out on my own I guess. I hate having to be on call and working weekends. I also feel like I've reached a point where I'm able to make my own clinical decisions. There are times where my attending makes me prescribe certain meds and order tests that I don't agree with. I guess it's a sign that I'm learning/growing and developing my own practice style. However, there's still a ton of things I still need to learn.
Ummmmm, what else..... Oh. I've been trying to take better care of myself. Finally went to the dentist since I have free dental insurance now. Found out that I have 12 cavities and that I need a root canal!!!! It's all because I didn't floss since all my cavities are interproximal. SMH.
I've also started working out a little bit more and eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. I figured I should try to practice what I've been preaching to my patients.
I'm also struggling to read more books. Man, I remember back in the day I could read a whole novel in a few hours. Now I struggle to get through 2 chapters. My first goal is to re-read the Great Gatsby before the movie comes out. I really hope I can finish it. I have a habit of getting half way through a book and then I'll just throw it aside and start reading another one. I also started reading Madame Bovary, Chocolat, and this other book my Maya Angelou. I failed to finish reading a single book. I need to do better.
Still single, but not worried. My aunty called me like 3 days ago asking me if I was talking to anyone. I said no, and she proceeded to ask my why. She literally told me that she is scared for me because time is "passing by". SMH. I told her to calm down. I am not rushing into anything. My husband will come when God says it is time, and I am not going to force myself to be with anyone just so that I can get married. I remember like 2 months ago at church, almost 6 people asked me about why I was still single. I just need everyone to calm down. I'm not worried, so they shouldn't be either.
I mean, yes I want to get married. No one really wants to be alone, but I understand how important it is to choose wisely. Four years ago I remember I was crying and begging God to bring me a boyfriend ASAP! For some reason, I felt that I needed a boyfriend to make it through medical school. Well God didn't listen to my foolishness and I'm glad. I have gone under a serious transformation physically, emotionally, and spiritually in the past few years. In these last 4-5 years feel like I've finally started on the path that God intended me to be on. I appreciate my singlehood. I realize now that back then I just wasn't ready for a relationship. Am I ready now? Maybe.
Oh yea, my little sister got into medical school!! She'll be going to the same school I graduated from.
Yea.
I think that's it for now.

Confused??
So why can't I get this guy out of my head?
I've gone out with him twice, and each time I've concluded that I don't really like him. Then next thing I know, I can't get him out of my head. What is my problem? Is God trying to tell me something? Or did this guy cast some sort of spell on me? Lol. Really confused.
I mean he's a very nice guy. He's cute. Kind of funny. Family oriented. Seems to be God fearing and he goes to church every Sunday.
One thing is that he's not in school and I don't really know what his plans are considering his education. Can I marry someone without a degree?? He's also not as tall as I would like. If I wear 5 inch heels, I'm slightly taller than him. Does that really matter?
I don't like this feeling. I don't like it at all.

New Year!
It's been awhile.
A new year, another year older. Can't believe it's already 2013. Man, 2012 went by so fast. 2012 was such a good year for me, and I pray that 2013 is even better.
Residency is going well. About 6 more months and I'll no longer be considered a 1st year/intern. I will be soon referred to as an "upper level," CRAZY. I've learned so much in the past few months. I can also feel that my confidence level has gone up. I no longer feel like a stupid intern, but still have a long way to go. All glory to God for seeing me through.
Still single. Maybe 2013 will be the year... maybe. No rush though.
Oh yea! My birthday was at the end of December, and everyting went well. Well guess who called? Mr. Banana! I was shocked. I tried my best to cut all ties with him. He had recently gotten a new phone and apparently lost his contacts. I found this out through facebook, so I purposefully didn't send my number because I didn't want him to call/text me anymore. Well, I was out shopping on my birthday and I get a text from him. I'm thinking WTF, how did he get my number? He wished me a happy birthday and kept texting me to tell me that he was in town and asking me if I was in town too. So I said that I was in town, but that I had a very tight schedule and would be leaving in like 2 days. Well, later that night he actually CALLED. He wished me happy birthday AGAIN, and then asked where I was and what I was doing. He told me he was going out to get a drink and a bite to eat, and I told him I was on my way to church. It was so unusual. Of course I asked him how his wife and kid were to remind him that he had a family. I dunno, I think it inappropriate to be friends with married guy who you used to date. It's increasingly inappropriate if his wife doesn't know about me. I think it would be a different story if I was friends with his wife too, and she was okay with the fact that her husband and I used to date. I dunno, he just really needs to move on.
That's all for now.
